About the event

På svenska

Angelica Persson from the Märta Måås-Fjetterström weaving studio talks about Elsa Gullberg and the textiles at Konserthuset.

The Work and the Weave consists of lectures and live music. We learn more about artists and artisans connected to Konserthuset, and in connection with the lectures, music is performed by members of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra.

Elsa Gullberg (1886–1984) was a Swedish textile designer, interior designer and entrepreneur, and an important innovator in Swedish textile and interior design. She collaborated with several of the leading architects of her time and was involved, among other projects, in the interior design of Konserthuset.

At this event, the new carpet in the Royal Waiting Room outside the Main Hall will also be presented. Commissioned to mark Konserthuset Stockholm’s centenary, it was made at the Märta Måås-Fjetterström weaving studio in Båstad and designed by Ernst Billgren.
